Hyland parent VC aquires Kofax, Readsoft, and Perceptive ImageNow

Wasn't surprised by this move. Link to press release here. 

With this latest, it really only leaves one major private ECM company left on the West coast, and that is Laserfiche. I'm sure there are many VC's or other companies looking at acquiring them.

NEWS: OPENTEXT ACQUIRES DOCUMENTUM, APPLICATIONXTENDER, CAPTIVA, INFO ARCHIVE

Officially now Opentext, the old EMC ECD suite of products now is under OpenText. This includes Documentum, ApplicationXtender, Captiva, Info Archive, ISIS Drivers (Pixel Translations).

No word on whats happening from here. Feb 2 is a webinar from OpenText to talk about road road mapping and questions.

NEWS: DocSTAR acquired by Epicor

DocSTAR - Which is more popular in Eastern America, has recently been acquired. Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, today announced that it has acquired privately-held docSTAR, an award-winning developer of document management software based in Schenectady, New York. The transaction closed on Jan. 3, financial terms were not disclosed.

NEWS: Lexmark exiting Software business (Kofax/ImageNow/Etc...)

Acquisition complete by Chinese investors taking over Lexmark. Now completed they announce they are moving all software into a separate corporate entity named Kofax and selling it!

I dont see anyone buying it all out.

I see ImageNow (Perceptive) going to someone like Onbase as they are the biggest competitors.

Kofax probably going to be eaten up by a scanner manufacturer for pennies - Fujitsu? Kodak? 

Should be interesting to watch...
